Siddhagiri Gramjivan Wax Museum at Kaneri, Kolhapur district, Maharashtra, is a sculpture museum. The full name is Siddhagiri Gramjivan Museum. It is situated at Shri Kshetra Siddhagiri Math, a campus built around the Moola-Kaadsiddheswar Shiva temple.

Siddhagiri Gramjivan Museum (Kaneri Math)at Kaneri, Kolhapur district, Maharashtra, is a sculpture museum. The full name is Siddhagiri Gramjivan (Village life) Museum. It is situated at Shri Kshetra Siddhagiri Math, a campus built around the Moola-Kaadsiddheswar Shiva temple.

Kaneri Math is a religious monastery with Shiva Temple at its center.  According to folklore, this Shivling was established by Lingayat Pujari on a scenic hill in the 19th century.  The temple is very beautiful and gives a feeling of blissful peace, besides a huge Nandini has been installed in the temple.  The site was renovated by a Lingayat Brahmin named Kadsiddheshwar Maharaj about 200 years ago, and his name has been associated with the station ever since.  Apart from the Mahadev temple, there are other attractions of the 12 feet deep well and the huge 8 feet Shiva statue monastery.

Location: How to reach Siddhagiri Museum?  Traveling from Kolhapur to Kolhapur-Bangalore National Highway No. 8 (National Highway 2), turn right at a distance of about 15 km from Gokul-Shirgaon crossroads on the way to Kaneri village.  The Siddhagiri Museum will be reached after going about 3-4 km.

Some overviews: The house of the village Brahmin: The first glimpse is of the house of the village Brahmin who is a great student.  He performs his duties, rituals and ceremonies like marriage, Janoi, Vivah etc., in addition to this he removes the auspicious Muhurat for sacred activities like house entry, Khat Muhurat, Bhumi Pujan, sowing, ear-nose piercing etc.  His livelihood is the Dakshina he meets, and he is shown using the almanac to find auspicious moments.

The museum has statues of many ancient saints. For example, Maharishi Patanjali is shown taking a class in an ancient style under a tree. Maharishi Kashyap is shown treating a patient at a distance of a few meters. Here Maharishi Kanad can be seen absorbed in scientific research, while Maharishi Varah Mihir is seen making his disciples aware of the world of planetary constellations. Statues in this museum built of brick and stone have been made of cement. About 40 skilled sculptors were employed for this.
