For women who have 2 or more live children, the duration of paid maternity leave will be 12 weeks (ie 6 weeks before and 6 weeks after the expected delivery date).
Maternity leave for adopted and commissioned mothers:
12-week maternity leave as well as “commissioned mothers” for mothers adopting a child less than three months from the date of adoption. The commissioning mother is defined as the biological mother who uses her eggs to make an embryo implanted in another woman.
